A History of Deerfield, Massachusetts by George Sheldon is a facsimile of the 1895-96 edition with forewords by Amelia F. Miller Donald R. Frary and was published in 2004 by the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association, Deerfield.  This two volume set deals with the times when and the people by whom it was settled , unsettled and resettled with a special study of the Indian Wars of the Connecticut Valley.  Volume One is 672 pages and contains the first twenty-one chapters, George Sheldon’s original preface.  There is also the addition of eleven photographs and a bibliography of books, articles, and pamphlets written by George Sheldon outside and in the PVMA Proceedings.  Volume Two is 477 pages and contains chapters 22 to 32, genealogies, appendix of additions and corrections, index to history, and index to genealogies. There is also the addition of ten photographs to this volume.
